Overview
An excellent opportunity has arisen for Healthcare Assistants to join West Dereham ward at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King’s Lynn. West Dereham ward is a 28 bedded acute frailty ward. As a Healthcare Assistant, you will be a valued member of our team. You will keep patients at the centre of all we do, providing high quality care. We are looking for individuals who uphold our trust values to contribute to making our patients feel comfortable and well cared for during their stay. The post involves working days and nights on a seven day rota, including bank holidays, on a rotating basis.
There’s never been a more exciting time to join TeamQEH. We are building a new state-of-the-art hospital to open in 2030 and undergoing significant digital transformation, including the rollout of a new electronic patient record (EPR) from 2026 to improve joined-up care.
Responsibilities
* Work under delegation and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
* Provide high quality, patient-centred care and support while patients are in hospital.
* Contribute to a safe and therapeutic environment.
Training and Induction
* Attend the GROW Programme – QEHKL enhanced induction programme with mandatory training for clinical staff.
* Attend the Caring with Kindness programme (essential learning from patient experience).
* Complete a comprehensive induction programme and pursue the Care Certificate with support.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Demonstrate flexibility and the ability to work as part of a team as well as make autonomous decisions.
* Willing to undertake further training and mandatory updates as deemed necessary.
* Previous experience in a care environment or the NHS is desirable but not essential; you will be supported while learning the role.
Additional Information
* You will be required to work a 7-day rota with day and night shifts.
