Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer
to join our engineering team and play a key role in keeping our automated production facility running at peak performance.
The Role
As a
Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer
, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving a wide range of automated machinery and equipment. Working closely with production teams, you'll help drive performance through proactive maintenance and continuous improvement.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about engineering excellence.
Shift Pattern is Monday to Friday 6am-2pm & 2pm-10pm (alternating weeks)
Key Responsibilities
* Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and communicate clearly with production on expected downtime and solutions
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and servicing in line with schedules
* Support the commissioning and installation of new equipment
* Work collaboratively with the production and engineering teams to improve OEE, reduce downtime, and enhance machinery performance
* Complete all necessary engineering documentation accurately and on time
* Attend team meetings and contribute to improvements in GMP, safety, and efficiency
* Identify and implement solutions to reduce waste and inefficiencies
* Maintain a clean, safe working environment, in line with Health & Safety policies and "audit-ready" site standards
* Take part in ongoing training and development, including becoming a super-user on key equipment
* Support in completing risk assessments and ensuring compliance with site procedures
What We're Looking For
* City & Guilds, BTEC Level 3 or above in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
* Recognised apprenticeship in a manufacturing environment (preferred)
* Minimum 3 years' experience in a fast-paced automated production facility
* Strong understanding of both mechanical and electrical maintenance
* Proactive and self-motivated with excellent communication skills
* A keen focus on Health & Safety, hygiene, and continuous improvement
* Willingness to work flexibly, including occasional travel to other sites
* Experience in FMCG, food, or brewery environments
* Knowledge of HACCP and food hygiene standards
* Familiarity with Moba grading equipment, automation, and tray wash systems
* IOSH Working Safely certification (training provided if required)
