Due to growth in service, we are recruiting a Maintenance Assistant/Handyperson to join our team at Belmont Secondary School.
About the Role
You will be responsible for maintaining the school premises, ensuring they are clean, secure, safe, and well maintained at all times. This role involves a wide range of duties and responsibilities related to the fabric and grounds of the school.
Main Duties:
* Locking and unlocking the buildings as required.
* Helping cover the three sites.
* Weekly vehicle checks and cleaning.
* Dealing efficiently with PPM and Reactive maintenance, day-to-day establishment requirements, and reactive repairs.
* Undertaking repairs to fixtures and fittings, comfortable using basic joinery, plumbing, and painting skills.
* Assisting with refurbishments undertaken by the site team.
* Porterage around the school site when needed.
* Monitoring the premises for hazards, carrying out repairs, or reporting problems where necessary.
* Working with the rest of the site team to maintain a clean and safe environment throughout the school.
Essential:
* Full UK driver’s licence.
* Ideally GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths.
