UHI Moray is currently looking for talented and enthusiastic individuals, who have a strong commitment to Further and Higher Education, to join our Board of Management. At UHI Moray, we are both a university and a community college. We are an academic partner of the University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI) and an assigned college of the Highlands & Islands FE Region. We seek to be at the heart of transformation in the community we serve and for the vast region that we live and work in, but we also have national and international reach as part of a regional university structure. We are led and overseen by a Board of Management, which in turn is responsible to the Court of the University of the Highlands and Islands - the Regional Strategic Body for the Highlands and Islands, including Moray and Perthshire. Board members make an important contribution to UHI Moray’s strategic direction, decision-making and continued development, whilst acting as ambassadors for us, communicating our activities to their contacts throughout the local area and beyond. UHI Moray acts as a regional centre for several key disciplines. We operate dedicated facilities in Elgin, at our Moray Street and Linkwood campuses. Our Alexander Graham Bell Centre for Digital Health is an innovative research, education and business hub, the AGB Centre brings together expertise in digital healthcare across the region and the whole of Scotland. We are also home to one of the country’s leading art schools, Moray School of Art, which boasts fantastic access to studio spaces, above average tutor-student ratios and a genuine sense of community. We are drivers of innovation and growth in the region, working in partnership with the Moray Growth Deal designed to maximise Moray’s economic competitiveness. UHI Moray is committed to equality and diversity and to ensuring our Board represents the staff, students, and community that it serves. Applications are particularly welcome from women, as well as people with disabilities, LGBTIQA people, those from black and minority ethnic communities and people aged under 50. Appointees should live, work or study in Moray or have a strong connection to the Moray area. Applications are sought from individuals who have diverse skills, knowledge and experience in a broad range of backgrounds and sectors, including one or more of the following areas: - Further, higher or senior secondary education or the college student experience; or - Industry, commerce, finance, accounting, audit, the Third Sector, public service or trade unions; or - The Moray area and its relevant needs; and have other skills, knowledge, experience, attributes or background that the Board determine would add value to their discussions and contribute to their effectiveness.
