Are you passionate about supporting young people with special educational needs (SEN)? Hays Education is recruiting for a Learning Support Mentor to join a dynamic and inclusive Secondary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students who face barriers to learning due to social, emotional, or behavioural challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide tailored support to students with SEN, including SEMH needs, ADHD, and autism
2. Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions to promote engagement and progress
3. Support the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
4. Foster positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
5. Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external agencies
6. Maintain accurate records and contribute to student reviews
What We’re Looking For:
7. Experience working with children or young people with SEN, ideally in a PRU or alternative provision
8. Strongmunication and interpersonal skills
9. A calm, patient, and resilient approach
10. Ability to build trusting relationships with students and staff
11. Relevant qualifications in education, youth work, or SEN support (desirable but not essential)
