First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Plant Coordinator on behalf of one of our clients.
Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Provide evidence of best value regarding plant usage, including commercial betterment; reporting cost savings, profits, and losses in line with established processes, while ensuring quality and efficiency against resource plans.
2. Ensure plant hire is compliant with health and safety regulations.
3. Prepare monthly plant usage reports.
4. Communicate with project teams for plant and equipment requirements following the procurement schedule and contract programme.
5. Procurement of external plant in line with agreed supplier arrangements, negotiating rates with external suppliers where applicable.
6. Support the project teams on resource plans.
7. Ensure that all site requirements are actioned on a timely basis.
8. Raise hire orders using the ERP system, liaise with site teams and advise on delivery timing.
9. Ensure all plant orders are sent to suppliers and sites, filing documents as appropriate.
Skills and Qualifications:
10. Strong numerical, organisational and analytical skills
11. Negotiation, influencing and presentation capability
12. IT literate with the ability to effectively use the Microsoft Office suite of packages
13. Knowledge and understanding of construction/civil engineering would be desirable but not essential
14. Previous plant control/hire desk experience or working in a plant hire environment preferred
Location: Walsall
Salary: £28,000 – £30,000 Per annum
