Role Overview
The Senior HR Advisor is a key position within the HR team delivering a professional advice service to multiple areas and supporting the HR Business Partners across our Schools. Working as part of a proactive, innovative, and responsive P&E team, you will provide pragmatic, creative and business focused People solutions and recommendations along with supporting wider business projects. This role will provide exposure to several locations, departments and stakeholders, and would suit an experienced HR Advisor looking for suitable experience to develop their skills and knowledge further into a more senior position.
You will need to be qualified to CIPD Level 5 and will ideally have extensive case work experience. You will be based at CATS Global Schools Head Office in Cambridge, however occasional travel to other sites within Cambridge and the UK may be required.
HR Advising
* Provides support, advice and guidance to line managers and employees in relation to HR policies and procedures, employee relation issues and organisational change.
* Promotes employee engagement, analysing the data from engagement surveys and working with the schools to proactively implement actions.
* Champions the completion of good quality annual appraisals and supports any gaps in learning needs.
* Ensures central communication is delivered across their business area.
* Delivers and supports the business on a wide range of HR projects.
* Attends as a panel member where required, at interview and selection events for senior candidates and contributes to the decision-making process relating to the most appropriate choice of candidate.
* Advising managers on how to deal with difficult conversations and improve on soft skills.
* Identify development needs of supervisors and managers.
* Creating and delivering training on best practices.
* Monitoring absences levels and assisting with ill health capability.
Qualifications
* CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent.
* Extensive case work experience.
* Strong understanding of HR policies and procedures.
* Experience in employee relations and organisational change.
* Ability to travel occasionally to other sites within Cambridge and the UK.
