Job Description
We are recruiting an Environmental Advisor for Havant Thicket Reservoir. The project will run for a minimum of 3 more years with many other exciting projects in the local area, such as sea walls, beach restoration, naval base improvements, and water infrastructure projects. The business has a distinguished history in water infrastructure and marine projects across the UK and Europe.
This project is the first of its kind in the last 30 years, constructing a new reservoir to protect some of the rarest chalk streams in the country and provide a future-proof source of water to the region.
The project is being delivered by a Joint Venture and will include extensive earthworks, ecological work, reinforced concrete structures, pipelines, buildings, and MEICA works. You will join the Health, Safety, and Environment team, working closely with the construction project delivery team to support, advise, and implement environmental processes, procedures, and improvement initiatives across the site.
Environmental Advisor duties include:
1. Support site teams by providing guidance, training, and audits to ensure compliance with environmental legislation, ISO standards (14001, 50001), and permits.
2. Carry out regular site inspections, monitor energy use, and help reduce the carbon footprint through improved data capture and performance analysis.
3. Lead initiatives to prevent water pollution, manage silt, monitor noise and dust levels, and protect on-site ecology.
4. Liaise with regulators, environmental specialists, and clients to maintain high environmental standards and contribute to project success.
5. Produce detailed environmental reports, investigate incidents, maintain the environmental database, and support bids and submissions.
The business offers a comprehensive package including private healthcare, an attractive pension scheme, professional membership, and a salary reflecting your contribution to the business. Please feel free to get in touch with any questions about the project or the job role.
