Job description
Our objective in Bloomfields Private Nursing Home is to establish a caring and homely environment to provide person-centred dementia nursing care and practice to individual residents of the highest possible standard. Bloomfields is a well-established nursing home providing compassionate nursing care to residents with dementia. As a professional, your role also includes delivering clinical excellence in a professional manner through direct nursing care whilst effectively leading and supervising a multidisciplinary team including assessing, planning and delivering the nursing requirement of residents on the basis of person-centred care. To assist in the management of the team by supervising and evaluating the care being given, ensuring that good standards are maintained. To carry out duties and act in accordance with the NMC Guidelines.
Responsibilities
* Administration of medications.
* Monitor residents and liaise with MDT to plan care.
* Conduct staff appraisals, support personal development.
* Promote positive culture and teamwork.
* Undertake regular clinical supervision and audits.
* Compliance with RQIA Care Standards, Nursing Home Regulations and H&S Regulations.
* Promote the Home.
* Day to day running of the Home.
* Manage the Home in the absence of the Nurse Manager.
* Regularly meeting with Registered Provider regarding expenses and improvement plans.
* Policy development.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
* Current NMC Registration.
* Previous line management experience of at least 3 years in a similar environment.
* Must possess a good level of IT skills including Microsoft Office software.
* Strong leadership qualities and the ability to lead and develop a team.
* Good communication skills.
* Previous management / supervisory experience.
* Care of the elderly dementia experience.
Desirable Skills
* At least 5 years’ experience in a Nursing Home setting.
* Knowledge of a computerised care system.
