City of York Council are excited to announce that they are seeking a Highways Asset Manager.
In this role you will be experienced in working with active travel and highways assets as well as managing and delivering high profile complex highways maintenance programmes with many stakeholders.
Working as a key member of the Highways Management team and reporting directly to the Head of Service, you will be responsible for leading a team of dedicated Asset Engineers overseeing the strategic management of all of York’s highways assets in accordance with the York Local Transport Policy and Highways Infrastructure Asset Management Plan.
This Includes Developing Transparent Long Term Capital Renewal And Ongoing Maintenance Programmes To Maximise Efficiencies Within The Budget For The Following Assets In Your Control
* Active travel networks and assets
* Roads (including signage and lining)
* Footways
* Drainage
* Street Lighting
* York City Walls
In doing so you will be working with an established Highways Management team set up to sustainably deliver work streams on all Highways Assets whilst also being supported by framework consultancies and contractors. For this you will need to be an excellent communicator.
Whilst primarily acting as Client in accordance with the CDM Regulations, you may at times also be acting as Principal Contractor and Principal Designer dependent upon the requirements of the specific works.
