The post holder will work across the Trust providing specialist clinical expertise to patients with fragility fractures, ensuring best practice assessment, treatment and follow-up in line with national guidance. You will act as an expert practitioner and advisor for FLS, influencing clinical practice, supporting education and contributing to service development at both local and national level.
You will demonstrate strong clinical leadership, excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams including Orthopaedics, Rheumatology, primary care and community services.
About You
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced nurse who demonstrates:
* Significant post-registration experience, ideally within Orthopaedics, Rheumatology or related specialties.
* Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills.
* Experience in service development, audit or quality improvement.
* A passion for education and improving patient outcomes.
* Ability to work autonomously while contributing positively within a multidisciplinary team.
Main duties of the job
* Provide specialist clinical assessment, management and advice to patients within the Fracture Liaison Service.
* Work strategically to influence and support the development of FLS services locally and nationally.
* Collaborate with lead clinicians, care group managers and directors to deliver the strategic vision of the service.
* Participate in local clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives and national FLS collaborations.
* Deliver specialist education and training to staff, students and patients.
* Develop and run workshops and education sessions for newly diagnosed patients and healthcare professionals.
* Implement policies and pathways that support service development and best practice.
* Act as a clinical expert and resource within fracture prevention and bone health.
* Deliver high-quality presentations, including PowerPoint teaching sessions.
* Work closely with national frameworks and guidance including FLS-DB, ROS and NOGG.

Qualifications
* Registered Nurse / AHP
* Educated to a minimum of degree level or equivalent experience.
* Evidence of recent clinical practice in specialist area/ evidence of recent appropriate experience.
* Willing to undertake further training in specialist area.
* Evidence of Leadership, management and specialty development
Experience
* Significant post registration experience at Band 6 evidence of Team management.
* Recent clinical experience in related client group
* Experience in facilitating, teaching, assessing and coaching
