Overview
Coordinate and lead patient safety, risk management, and quality improvement initiatives across Ambulance Tasmania. Provide expert clinical advice to leadership and drive the development and implementation of policies and systems to ensure safe, high-quality care.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate AT's patient safety processes, risk management systems, and clinical improvement initiatives to prevent harm, reduce errors, and minimise adverse patient outcomes through collaborative, evidence-based approaches.
* Provide expert clinical advice, leadership, support and recommendations to the Director - Clinical Services and AT Executive in relation to patient safety related practices, policies, and procedures.
* Manage the development, implementation, and review of patient safety related clinical practices, policies, and procedures across the organisation to facilitate proactive, integrated, and innovative approaches to patient/client safety, risk management and quality improvement.
Qualifications
* Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of ambulance specific quality improvement processes and best practices in contemporary patient safety management systems, including patient information and data protection principles.
* Broad clinical and operational experience within a complex health care environment, with demonstrated understanding of quality assurance processes within the ambulance service context to achieve patient safety.
* Demonstrated ability to investigate staff and patient safety incidents, analyse data, provide reports and progress outcomes, and manage clinical audits, reviews and compliance systems for patient safety.
* Registered with the Paramedicine Board of Australia.
* Holds a Bachelor of Paramedic Science or other approved qualification with relevant work experience.

Salary and Appointment
Ambulance Tasmania Award, Manager Level 1: $122,145 per annum (plus 12% superannuation contribution).
Permanent, full‑time day worker position; 76 hours per fortnight; hours negotiable; commencing as soon as possible.
Eligibility
* Current Driver's Licence.
* Relevant qualification in Safety and/or Patient Safety.
* Desired but not required: experience in safety and quality roles.
