Electrical Commissioning & Maintenance Engineer
Location: South Wales
Salary: £38,000 - £42,000 (DOE) + benefits
About the Role
A leading UK company in the design, manufacture, installation, and servicing of pumping equipment is seeking a dynamic and motivated Electrical Commissioning & Maintenance Engineer to join its external site teams.
This is a varied and hands-on role, working alongside mechanical engineers to install, commission, and service pumping equipment across multiple sites. The position offers national exposure while remaining regionally focused.
Key Responsibilities
* Attend sites primarily across Wales and South West England
* Carry out electrical work to support mechanical installations
* Assist with after-sales service and breakdown support when required
* Travel and stay away from home when necessary (minimised where possible)
* Maintain and improve company procedures
* Complete site reports and obtain customer sign-off after each visit
* Submit reports and timesheets promptly
* Represent the business professionally, promoting products and services
* Ensure tools and materials are prepared before attending site
* Communicate effectively with colleagues and customers at all levels
* Manage petty cash and company credit card responsibly
* Identify personal training and development needs
* Follow all health and safety policies and procedures
* Undertake additional duties as required
Requirements
* General knowledge of the engineering or pumping industry (desirable)
* Experience in a similar role or maintenance environment
* Experience with motors and/or pumps (desirable)
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* City & Guilds Level 3 – Inspection & Testing (initial and periodic)
* Electrical qualification to 17th or 18th Edition (BS7671)
* Confined Space Training (desirable)
* First Aid Certification (desirable)
* CSCS Card (desirable)
