About The Role
We are seeking an experienced mental health social worker to join the Melton & Rutland Mental Health team. The role involves completing Care Act 2014 assessments focusing on reablement, recovery and strength-based approach, delivering high-quality, person-centred support, and promoting independent living. You will work collaboratively with persons, carers, and professionals across health and social care, manage complex safeguarding and high-risk cases (including self-neglect), and maintain MDT working. Knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983, S117 aftercare, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and experience delivering MCA assessments is required. The role covers Melton, Rutland and some Charnwood postcodes. An enhanced DBS check is required.

Qualifications
* Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England, holding a Social Work England approved degree or equivalent qualification (Certificate or Diploma).
* Knowledge of social work methodologies and relevant legislation: Care Act, Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act.
* Experience of effective assessment, risk management, multi‑agency/multidisciplinary working and hospital discharge processes.
* Experience of partnership working with adults to identify and meet needs with creative, pragmatic solutions.
* Confident communicator with diplomacy, persuasion, assertiveness, conflict management skills and ability to build effective working relationships.
* Proactive, able to work individually and as a team member.
* Good prioritisation and time management skills; valid UK driving licence or access to a vehicle.
