JOB BAND: E CONTRACT TYPE: Fixed Term Contract until 26 March 2026 DEPARTMENT: HR PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £65,000 – £75,000 per annum (based on relevant skills, knowledge and experience)
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
This HR Business Partner (HRBP) role supports BBC News HR team during a major operating model transformation programme. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders across BBC News and BBC HR to deliver human resources solutions aligned with business objectives.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT
* Partner with senior leaders and project teams to deliver a complex transformation programme.
* Manage the HR workstream for projects within the BBC News operating model transformation programme.
* Support and coach managers through redundancy and reorganisation processes, including consultation planning and delivery.
* Design and manage HR delivery timelines, balancing legal compliance with business needs.
* Engage confidently with trade unions and lead collective consultation processes.
* Collaborate closely with the operational HR team to ensure alignment and communication throughout the project lifecycle.
* Work closely with Internal legal team to interpret legal advice and assess risks to provide pragmatic, business‑focused recommendations.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
* Proven experience as an HR Business Partner in a large, complex, and international organization.
* Strong track record of supporting transformation and organisational change projects.
* Experience managing redundancy and reorganisation processes, including consultation and stakeholder engagement.
* Excellent stakeholder management and influence skills across all organisational levels.
* Experience working with trade unions and leading collective consultation.
* Pragmatic, solutions‑focused approach with ability to assess legal risk and advise accordingly.
* Agile and adaptable in navigating change and shifting business priorities.
* Curiosity and adaptability to understand new jurisdictions and employment landscapes.
* International restructuring experience is desirable but not essential.
