Description
To manage and execute all minor capital projects with value up to USD 2 million and requiring Detailed Design Engineering within approved project parameters such as cost, timelines, functionality and quality in order to meet the satisfaction and agreed objectives of the projects handled.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
Policies, Processes and Procedures
* Assists in the development and implementation of section policies, processes, and procedures to ensure all relevant procedural / legislative requirements are fulfilled.
Day- to-day operations
* Supervises the day-to-day operations of various projects to ensure that work processes are implemented as designed and comply with established standards and procedures
Contractor Management
* Organises and supervises (on site) the activities to ensure that all work within a specific area of the project is carried out in an efficient manner which is consistent with operating procedures, HSE and operational safety framework.
* Oversees and supervises the project progress and quality of work, to ensure that all activities take place in a compliant manner which guarantees the completion of the project on time and within specifications.
Project Management
* Provides work direction as required from on site preparation of the project to commissioning and post completion analysis for projects that includes reviewing and checking of work done by lower level engineers in order to prepare necessary recommendation to superintendent.
* Plans, organizes, manages and controls projects in order to ensure that the project cycle is completed meeting agreed project parameters, standards and objectives.
* Ensures effective coordination for the access and work permit procedures and authorization of personnel within the construction area.
Project Coordination
* Coordinates with project team members including proponent departments during project execution with regards to progress of the construction to provide up to date status report
* Escalates to Superintendent any technical and operational changes that arise during construction in order to make the necessary steps in resolving issues
* Arranges material inspection activities by scheduling and coordinating with relevant team members and reporting compliance to ensure appropriate and maximum utilization of construction materials
Detailed Design Engineering
* Actively participates in all phases of the Detailed Design Engineering reviews to ensure that all technical requirements are understood and easily implemented during the design phase.
Invoice Verifications
* Verifies and recommends payment of invoices, variations and settlements in all stages of the project then escalated to the Superintendent and Department Manager for the necessary approvals.
Reporting
* Supervises the preparation of timely and accurate departmental reports which conform to Company and department requirements, policies and standards.
Budget
* Assists in the preparation of the section budget by preparing analysis and data related to specific elements as directed.
Supervision & Coaching
* Supervises the activities and work of subordinates by providing formal and informal feedback to ensure that all work within a specific area is carried out in an efficient manner and in accordance with set individual targets.
* Coaches subordinates on related activities in order to develop and enhance employee’s capabilities and performance.
Safety, Health & Environment
* Ensures compliance to all relevant safety, health and environmental procedures in the section in order to promote a healthy and safe work environment in coordination with safety specialists.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & LANGUAGE SKILLS
Academic and professional qualifications:
* Bachelor degree in Engineering.
Experience:
* Minimum 12 years of experience with 6 years in a project management supervisory position in oil & gas industry.
