Job Summary The Secretarial Team is responsible for providing secretarial services to the GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, and Practice Manager.
The duties include processing patient referrals for secondary services and providing a comprehensive, efficient, and effective service to all patients.
Main duties of the job
* Demonstrate a professional and courteous manner
* Maintain strict confidentiality
* Communicate effectively and courteously with all
* Provide audio, copy typing, and word processing services for GPs and health professionals
* Make appointments, bookings, and hospital admissions
* Maintain filing and administrative systems
* File patient records and correspondence in medical records
* Handle incoming and outgoing telephone calls
* Update and maintain postage franking machine
* Provide cover for secretarial/administrative team during sickness and leave
* Record written communications legibly and accurately
* Plan and prioritize workload efficiently
* Deal with general inquiries and verbal complaints
* Monitor and action tasks via Emis Web
* Process 2-week referrals for patients
* Report incidents via SIRMS
* Communicate effectively with the practice team
* Handle solicitor requests, including payments and redacting third-party information
* Resolve job-related issues, including patient documentation
* Attend meetings as required
* Work safely in accordance with legislation and practice policies
* Be flexible to cover for colleagues as needed

Person Specification
Experience
* Knowledge of medical secretarial duties
* Experience dealing with the public/patients
* Experience in a General practice or NHS setting

* Minimum five GCSEs or equivalent, proof of study to age 18
