BPSS clearance will be required at basic level. Prior clearance will not be transferable.
Job Purpose / Overview
The Quality Engineer (QE) supports the Quality Management Lead (QML) in ensuring project quality requirements are met across the full HPC project lifecycle. The role provides implementation and monitoring support and does not hold accountability for final quality decisions, which remain with the QML.
Principal Accountabilities
* Support the development of quality (QA/QC) arrangements for deployment across the HPC organisation.
Key Quality Arrangements
* Assist with PQCPs and CQAPs
* Support manufacturing surveillance and inspections
* Assist with NCR management and close out
* Support quality reporting and metrics
Essential Knowledge & Skills
* Experience in project delivery, preferably in the nuclear power sector, with a solid understanding of QA/QC in major engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction and commissioning projects.
* Proven experience working on HPC and a strong understanding of quality assurance, compliance, and governance in the nuclear industry.
* Experience interfacing with project teams and supply chain organisations.
* Ability to analyse data, prepare reports and make recommendations.
* Pro‑active, flexible and able to plan and work independently.
* Native‑level English speaker (spoken and written).
* Highly experienced Quality Engineer, operating at a senior level with ambition to progress into a Quality Manager Lead role.
Desirable Knowledge & Skills
* Knowledge of the nuclear sector, ideally new build.
* Knowledge of nuclear site licence conditions.
* French language skills are advantageous.
* Familiarity with pressure and nuclear codes.
* Knowledge of welding, non‑destructive testing (NDT) and evaluation (NDE).
Essential Qualifications & Experience
* HNC/HND qualification or degree in a relevant science or engineering subject, or equivalent qualification.
* Proven track record of delivering results.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
* Experience resolving issues with a wide range of stakeholders in a multi‑cultural environment.
* Broad experience of implementing a variety of quality‑related solutions.
* Professional accreditation or pursuit of membership of the Chartered Quality Institute & Chartered Quality Professional.
* Knowledge of improvement methodologies, tools & techniques such as Lean Six Sigma.
