The role is within the Economic Development and Programmes Team, which is responsible for delivering key economic and sustainability programmes, including Economic Growth, Healthy Communities, Climate Change & Sustainability, and Social & Economic Inclusion. The team’s focus areas include business support, regeneration schemes, town‑centre development, visitor economy promotion, health and sustainability, policy and strategy development, and programme management of external funding.
Responsibilities of the role include monitoring and preparing funding claims, researching and producing reports, managing funding applications, arranging reimbursements, and supporting the promotion and delivery of activities. The candidate will engage with public stakeholders, businesses, residents, departments and partner agencies to ensure successful delivery.
The post is office‑based at District Council Offices, Mill Lane, Wingerworth, with potential for hybrid working subject to operational requirements. A full driving licence and access to a vehicle are required as attendance at partner meetings across the county may be required.
Qualifications
* IT skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, e‑mail and the Internet.
* Interpersonal skills, able to explain complex information in an accessible way.
* Experience of devising, implementing, monitoring and evaluating administrative systems.
* Ability to engage with a range of businesses, organisations and local residents, patiently empathising with their needs in an approachable and flexible manner.
