Position Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated biochemist to join our Protein Science group. The individual will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to design, produce, and characterize novel therapeutic antibodies. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge biotherapeutics development within a fast-growing biotech company with a bold vision.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with colleagues from diverse scientific backgrounds in our Biologics Discovery and Drug Development teams to drive the design and production of innovative therapeutic molecules and optimize their biochemical and biophysical properties.
2. Serve as the SME for antibody expression and purification platforms, contributing to ModeX’s multi-targeting strategy through antibody engineering and workflow optimization.
3. Independently develop protein purification processes and perform multistep purifications to generate high-quality antibodies for biochemical, biophysical, and functional assays.
4. Plan experiments, execute protocols, analyze data, and communicate results effectively within cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
5. Maintain thorough and accurate documentation in electronic laboratory notebooks.
Qualifications:
1. MS or Ph.D. in protein science, biochemistry, structural biology, or related fields.
2. At least 6 years (MS) or 3 years (Ph.D.) of relevant laboratory experience.
3. Proficiency in mammalian cell culture and recombinant protein expression using transient and stable platforms.
4. Experience with protein purification techniques, including affinity, IEX, SEC chromatography, and AKTA systems.
5. Knowledge of biologics characterization and analytics technologies such as BLI/SPR, ELISA, HPLC, and UPLC.
6. Understanding of antibody structure, function, and experience in antibody drug discovery, especially multispecific antibodies, is preferred.
7. Excellent communication, organization, and data analysis skills, with strong troubleshooting abilities.
8. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
