Your primary role will be to work closely with Design and F&DT engineers to assess and validate repairs to damaged aircraft structures. We are a dynamic multifunctional team delivering structural repairs and repair processes to support the Airbus fleet. Leading a team of static stress engineers to perform structural static strength analysis and compile justification reports for repair designs using Airbus approved methods and tools, working closely with skilled Design and F+DT engineers to develop optimum repairs.
Are you the right candidate for this opportunity Make sure to read the full description below.
- Providing technical guidance and support to the Airbus internal teams, including the offshore teams, and any suppliers as required.
- Supporting and developing the training for early careers and new starts. Also, supporting the signature development of the static stress engineers.
- Developing methods and processes for repair analysis, working with method experts and tool owners to enhance the analysis capability of the repair teams.
- Supporting the 24/7 service for an Aircraft-On-Ground (AOG) when required.

- Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering degree (or equivalent) and relevant engineering experience.
- An extensive aerospace static stress engineering background.
- Experience of static analysis of aircraft structures using a range of hand and computer methods.
- An understanding of the fundamental methods of static stress analysis and an ability to develop these methods.
- An understanding of the static strength behaviours (loading, failure modes, etc) of the aircraft structures.
- Knowledge and experience on both metallic and composite structures.
- An understanding and ability to decide, with a good rationale, on how the repair design affects the static strength of aircraft structure.
- An ability to choose and apply appropriate analysis methods to the repair design.
- The capability to work under pressure and ensure the delivery is technically correct, on time and on quality within the tight time constraints.
- Be pragmatic, able to solve the problem and ability to make decisions based on a good engineering rationale.
