About the Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen with one of our trusted clients for an experienced Purchasing & Inventory Specialist. This role is ideal for a proactive individual who can manage procurement and forecasting activities for both direct and indirect materials, ensuring optimal inventory levels to meet production and customer demands.
Key Responsibilities:
* Raise and manage purchase orders for materials to support production schedules
* Provide accurate forecasts and schedules to suppliers to maintain consistent supply
* Monitor and manage supplier performance, including on-time delivery metrics
* Actively manage open orders in line with customer demand and business cashflow
* Investigate and resolve Goods-In discrepancies in collaboration with Logistics and Accounts
* Expedite material shortages and manage inventory levels to minimise excess stock
* Negotiate pricing and contractual terms with suppliers to support cost reduction goals
* Identify and onboard new suppliers as needed, maintaining strong supplier relationships
* Implement supply chain best practices, including Kanban or direct line feed systems
* Support continuous improvement initiatives in procurement and supply processes

About You:
Essential:
* A-Level qualification or equivalent
* 1–3 years' experience in a similar purchasing/inventory management role
* Proven ability to manage budgets and procurement processes
* Experience with ERP systems
* Strong numerical and negotiation skills
Desirable:
* Degree qualified
* Working towards or already CIPS certified
* Prior experience in implementing supply chain process improvements
