General Description
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Fire Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be accountable for completing all jobs assigned to them by the company, including installation, maintenance and servicing of Fire Alarm & AOV systems, working across various domestic and commercial properties primarily within the social housing and local authority sectors.
All jobs must be completed to a high standard, using technical knowledge in line with industry regulations and company expectations.
Responsibilities
* Where necessary interpret fire alarm or AOV drawings and specifications for a Fire or AOV install and be able to work with these accordingly.
* Work safely and in accordance with current health and safety and Fire Alarm Regulations and standards.
* Demonstrate knowledge and competence in working with various Fire Alarm controls and equipment including Closed Protocol Systems.
* Complete scheduled servicing of Fire Alarm and AOV systems.
* Maintain and repair Fire Alarm and AOV Systems, including system adaptions.
* Complete full installations and upgrades of fire alarm systems.
* Complete all paperwork and job reports via the Oneserve application.
* Ensure all work conducted is in compliance with BS 7671 & BS 5839 Fire Alarm regulations.
* Attend and complete all company provided training sessions.
* Participate in performance improvement programmes and regular appraisals.
* Liaise effectively with office staff and supervisors to resolve queries.
* Adhere to any KPI’s set by the company.
* Perform any other duties as reasonably required by your line manager or company directors.
Required Skills & Experience
* In‑depth knowledge of the Fire & AOV industry.
* Installation, maintenance, programming, servicing and commissioning experience.
* Strong understanding of fire safety standards and legislations.
* A proactive and responsible approach to health and safety in the workplace.
* Ability to use mobile devices to complete electronic job sheets and certification accurately.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Highly organised and reliable.
* Takes ownership of outcomes with high degree of accountability and integrity.
Qualifications
* Level 3 in Electrical installation.
* FIA training and certification.
* Minimum of 5 years experience in the fire safety industry.
* FIA AO Level 3 in Fire Detection and Alarm Design Theory and Regulatory Requirements.
Additional Requirements
* Must have held a full UK driving licence for at least 12 months.
* Must have the right to work in the UK.
