We are looking for "relatable role models" to work within Blackpool Secondary Schools as a Youth Mentor / Student Support Assistant. In Blackpool, our young people face unique challenges. We need individuals who "get it"-people who can speak their language, break down barriers to education, and provide the consistency that many of our students are missing. This isn't about sitting at the back of a class with a textbook; it's about mentoring students who are at risk of exclusion and helping them stay on the right track. Your Responsibilities Engagement: Act as the bridge between the student and the classroom, helping disengaged learners find a reason to participate. Mentoring: Run 1:1 "check-in" sessions for students struggling with low self-esteem, gang culture, or difficult home lives. De-escalation: Use your Youth Work skills to spot "triggers" in the corridor and de-escalate conflicts before they reach the classroom.
