What you will do
As a Quality Engineer, you will develop standard operating procedures and quality processes to enhance product performance and support value-added sales. You will work closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to drive continuous improvement across product lines and assets. You will serve as the daily link between shift managers, process managers, and customer services, reviewing and setting product quality standards in collaboration with manufacturing and engineering.
Responsibilities include:
* Auditing & Compliance: Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with business accreditations, quality standards, and best practices.
* Root Cause Analysis: Monitor and report on internal rejections and customer complaints, leading investigations and corrective actions to reduce waste and improve quality.
* Technical Support & Training: Provide support and training to employees to ensure understanding of product, process, and customer requirements.
* Quality Standards & Control: Maintain product quality standards in collaboration with process managers and shift engineers.
* Process Improvement & Monitoring: Support machine capability studies, update FMEA processes, and track technical KPIs, developing corrective action plans as needed.
* Stock & Quarantine Management: Manage quarantined materials effectively, ensuring timely rework or disposal.
* Customer & Site Support: Investigate and resolve customer complaints, supporting on-site visits and interactions with customer engineers.
* Health & Safety Compliance: Implement and adhere to health & safety policies within your area.
What you will need
To succeed as a Quality Engineer in Building Systems, you should have a strong engineering or technical background with a focus on quality. Essential requirements include:
* A degree in Engineering or a related Quality discipline.
* At least 3 years of experience in quality, preferably within a downstream business.
* Strong project management skills and the ability to lead improvement initiatives.
* Technical or engineering background with understanding of manufacturing processes.
* Excellent organizational skills and stakeholder influence at all levels.
