We are supporting our client by recruiting a highly motivated Certification Engineer to support projects within our expanding aerospace division. This is a full-time, permanent position offering a competitive salary of up to £40,000 per annum, along with excellent benefits including 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, life assurance, healthcare scheme, pension, employee assistance programme, retail discounts, and a 37.5-hour workweek with an early finish on Fridays.
The ideal candidate will oversee certification activities across multiple projects, engaging with regulatory authorities, external (A)DOAs, airframe manufacturers, and MROs to ensure the timely delivery of certification documents and technical publications while maintaining compliance with airworthiness and safety standards.
Main Duties:
1. Lead certification activities across multiple seating projects, collaborating with UK CAA, (A)DOA companies, airframe manufacturers, and MROs.
2. Interpret and apply certification requirements to ensure project compliance efficiently and effectively.
3. Engage proactively with certification authorities to agree on certification paths.
4. Produce high-quality, compliant documentation including certification plans and reports.
5. Review technical publications such as CMMs, SBs, TRs, and SILs to industry standards.
6. Monitor certification progress, ensuring documentation aligns with project milestones.
7. Resolve certification issues promptly, developing backup plans as needed.
8. Build strong relationships with authorities, manufacturers, suppliers, and operators.
9. Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to incorporate certification requirements into design and production.
10. Influence design to minimize certification risks.
11. Ensure all activities and products meet certification and airworthiness standards without compromising safety.
Required Skills and Experience:
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
* Experience in writing and reviewing test plans, reports, and qualification documents.
* Proficiency with computer systems and document management tools.
* Experience with compliance verification for certification processes.
* Authoring aerospace modification paperwork.
* Willingness to travel for testing and witnessing activities.
* Experience in aerospace qualification/certification roles.
* Engagement with aerospace regulatory authorities and manufacturers.
* Knowledge of structured problem-solving methodologies.
* Familiarity with certification processes for aerospace cabin equipment, especially seating systems.
* Understanding of regulatory guidance material.
* Previous experience as a Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE) for a Part 21 (A)DOA.
* Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
