Overview
Lead Clinician – Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist to manage the in-house Clinical Team at Skylarks School, Surrey. The postholder will work with the school’s Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and the Regional Clinical Lead, splitting time between clinically leading the team and maintaining a therapy caseload. You will deliver bespoke assessment and intervention plans for pupils who may present with complex needs related to autism, neurodivergence, developmental trauma, and SEMH needs, with a focus on EHCP plan targets within the OFG clinical framework. You will also coordinate line management of the onsite clinical team and contribute to service development of the school-based clinical service alongside the SLT and Regional Clinical Lead.
Location: Skylarks School – Surrey KT18 7LR. Contract: Permanent (term-time only, or flexibility around a full-time contract can be discussed based on personal circumstances). Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 dependent on experience.
Responsibilities
* Lead and line-manage the onsite clinical team and develop the school-based clinical service in collaboration with the school SLT and Regional Clinical Lead.
* Deliver bespoke assessments and intervention plans for pupils with complex profiles, including autism and other neurodivergent presentations, developmental trauma, and SEMH needs.
* Ensure alignment with EHCP targets and OFG group-wide approaches (all, group, and individual clinical ways of working).
* Collaborate with education teams to support pupil independence and outcomes within an education setting.
* Promote a person-centred, safeguarding-focused culture and participate in service development and innovation within the group.
Essential Criteria
* Recognised degree in Occupational Therapy
* Valid professional registration and membership of a professional body (e.g., BPS)
* Experience with autistic individuals and/or complex needs
* Clear and concise clinical and research reporting
* Experience providing supervision and supporting a therapy team
* Ability to work independently and within a growing clinical service
* Experience of multi-professional work within the designated specialty (preferred)
* Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle
