Salary
£37,080 to £46,890 per annum plus benefits.
Hours & Shift Pattern
Full‑time, 37.5 hours per week. Shift pattern: Monday to Saturday with additional weekend shifts and various shift patterns available.
Role Overview
Assist in all surgical procedures across multiple specialities, support the surgical team, and ensure high‑quality, cost‑effective, and safe care for patients and staff.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide assistance to consultants during all surgical procedures (local, regional, sedation, general anaesthesia).
* Assist in positioning and preparation of patients and correct labelling/disposition of specimens.
* Prepare patients for clinical or operative procedures and deliver immediate post‑operative care.
* Take charge of the clinical area in the absence of an advanced practitioner, ensuring safety of patients, visitors and staff.
* Participate fully as a team member across all areas of the theatre suite, sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues to promote cohesion and achieve team objectives.
* Monitor cross‑infection control by observing departmental policy on dress, maintaining a clean working environment, and performing decontamination/sterilisation procedures and asepsis.
Qualifications & Experience
* Valid ODP / Anaesthetic Nurse qualification (HCPC / ADULT RGN).
* Post‑registration experience within Anaesthetics.
* Minimum of 2 years recent UK experience in Anaesthetics.
* Ability to deliver high standards of care.
