Our client is looking for a Part-Qualified (Finalist) Management Accountant to join their business based in Birmingham. This position is paying up to £50k per annum and requires 4 days per week on-site.
What you'll do:
1. Prepare accurate monthly management accounts including journals, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations to ensure timely financial reporting.
2. Support the month-end close process by collaborating with colleagues across finance and operational teams to gather relevant data and insights.
3. Assist in producing detailed forecasts and budgets that inform strategic decision-making for the business unit.
4. Analyse variances between actual results and budgeted figures, providing clear explanations and recommendations for improvement.
5. Maintain robust financial controls by ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations specific to the construction industry.
6. Work closely with project managers to monitor costs, track project performance, and identify areas for efficiency gains.
7. Utilise COINS or similar construction industry systems to extract data and generate insightful reports for senior management.
8. Contribute to year-end audit preparation by compiling schedules, responding to auditor queries, and supporting statutory account production.
