Job Title: Service Controller
Location: Hyde
Salary: £34,000
Hours: Monday to Friday (Days) and alternate Saturday mornings
Shift: 7am-5pm or 8am-6pm
Overtime: Available and paid at 1.5X
Benefits: Half year and end of year bonus* (*discretionary, OTE £600 each period), PPE and relevant equipment provided, Auto enrolment on company pension scheme (5% employee / 3% employer), Flexible working patterns available i.e. M-F and 1 in 2 Saturdays or Mon-Thurs one week and Tues - Fri the next, with Saturday mornings as required on the Friday working week. Join Our Team as a Service Controller
Required to support the service team in diagnosing faults, ordering parts and ensure the workshop runs smoothly.
Key Responsibilities of the Service Controller
* Industry knowledge required as will be working closely with the team where required and make recommendations for resolutions.
* Ensure jobs are set up correctly and updated as the job progresses, update all relevant records in line with company processes.
* Deputise for the Depot Manager to cover sickness or holidays
* The service controller will be based in the depot to assist the depot Manager with all admin and technical areas of a very busy depot.
* Create and maintain jobs on the system in a timely fashion.
* Ordering parts for the HGV’s and Trailers
* Ensure the system is updated with the correct details, hours and parts are ordered and PO's raised.
* Assist with scheduling of servicing and keep all records up to date.
* Update customers on the progress of jobs and obtain authorisation where required.
Required Skills and Experience for the Service Controller role:
* Experience gained working within the commercial vehicle sector
* NVQ / City & Guilds Level 1, 2, or 3 certificates or equivalent qualifications and experience
* Excellent IT skills required - Word, Excel, Outlook and online portals.
* Could suit a technician looking to come off the tools.
