The post holder will lead a team of pharmacists who work as part of ELFT community based mental health multi-disciplinary team across Luton and Bedfordshire. The lead pharmacist will provide clinical leadership on medicines optimisation, quality improvement and work in partnership to support medicines and safety priorities across the directorate. Main duties of the job Be part of a multi-disciplinary team providing care to mental health service users. Review medications and provide medicines optimisation and rationalisation to reduce risk and promote appropriate prescribing. To act as a clinical role model and demonstrate the ability to provide safe, clinically effective and cost efficient use of medicines. To be responsible for ensuring that clear policies, procedures and standards are set and adhered to in collaboration with other healthcare professionals, for the safe, effective and economic use of medicines. Person Specification Essential Essential • MPHARM degree • Registered GPHC Desirable • Diploma in pharmacy practice • minimum 4 years experience Essential Essential • Experience in provide pharmacy services to mental health services • Demonstrate the ability to appropriately recommend, substantiate and communicate therapeutic options in mental health patients • Training and education Management of others • Demonstrate use of clinical audit to improve practice Desirable • Experience in delivering training at post graduate level • Supplementary/Independent prescriber • Diploma/MSc in Pharmacy Practice
