This role will support SWIDN by creating engaging, high-quality illustrations that visually capture the essence of our events, activities, and values. These will help inspire members, tell stories and enhance our communications materials.
What difference will you make?
You will support a micro charity to better tell the story of our work, enabling regional charities across the South West to better access essential support and services. You will also contribute towards change in the international development sector, replacing historically racist imagery with innovative illustrations that tell effective stories without contributing to harmful stereotypes.

What will you be doing?
Key Responsibilities Produce digital artwork to represent key moments from charity events and activities Collaborate with the SWIDN team to understand themes, messages, and visual needs Deliver visuals for use across multiple platforms (social media, newsletters, website, reports, etc) - deliverables to be provided in .PNG, preferably with transparent background Maintain a consistent visual style that aligns with SWIDN's branding - we will provide examples of the style of illustration we are looking for Attend selected events (in-person or virtually) to create post-event illustrations, where feasible Skills & Experience Strong illustration and design skills (digital or traditional) Creative storytelling through visuals Ability to work independently and meet agreed deadlines Interest in charity work and passion for supporting SWIDN's mission and/or values Time Commitment Flexible and project-based; as the project requires and depending on events Support & Benefits Opportunity to build a portfolio of impactful, published work Networking and collaboration with a passionate charity team and wider network across the South West and globally Recognition on SWIDN's website, publications, and social media Duration Initial term 3 months (September - December 2025
