Job summary
We are looking for an experienced dietitian who is happy totravel to various facilities within our services, to provide dietetic supportand catering involvement. Our services include complex older person mentalhealth and secure services in Learning Disability/Autism.
We also havecontracts for specific dietetic needs at our College in Vale of Glamorgan.
This is an exciting clinical post that requires theapplicant to work independently whilst receiving the full support of the multiprofessional teams on each site.
We actively promote training andsupervision on a regular basis and ensure the post holder is an integrated partof local governance and audit process. We pay HCPC registration fees as well asoffering a variety of resources to support individual wellness.
Main duties of the job
To manage a specialist case load of patientswith complex nutritional needs, using evidence based and person-centredprinciples, to assess, plan, implement and evaluate treatment.
To manage all service resourceseffectively.
To takeresponsibility as an autonomous practitioner in planning and developing adietetic service with a range of adults with complex needs in older personsmental health/ mental health and learning disability

Job responsibilities
Clinical
9. Complete full assessment of patients nutritional status, using appropriate anthropometric, biochemical and medical records and identify their nutritional requirements.
10. Devise core and specialist nutritional treatment plans diabetes, weight reducing, food intolerance, enteral nutrition, renal nutrition, disordered eating.
11. Implement specialist group and individual treatments to achieve goals.
12. Use patient centred motivation techniques to effect nutritional behaviour change.
13. Evaluate and modify interventions using appropriate outcome measures.
14. Practice in accordance with legislation according to your clinical area.
Communication
Communicate with patients, using the most appropriate verbal, written or pictorial method, in a way that respects their view, autonomy and culture.
15. Translate key nutritional messages into simple ideas and language that can be easily understood by the client group.
16. Work collaboratively with all members of the clinical team and share information with the team members formally and informally through morning meetings/huddles/CTP and CPAs and MDT notes.
17. Liaise with other departments within the service and beyond.
Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
18. Degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent dietetic qualification.
19. Registered to practice by HCPC.
20. Member of the British Dietetic Association
21. Experience in clinical dietetics.
22. Evidence of ongoing CPD training.
Desirable
23. Post- Graduate Courses.
24. Member of relevant COT specialist section.
25. Driving licence

27. Knowledge of Chaotic eating patterns and other areas such as Prader Willi/Autism/ restrictive eating
