You’ll be joining a large, multi‑site organisation with a diverse property portfolio, spanning historic buildings through to modern facilities. The Estates & Facilities team is responsible for maintaining a safe, functional and high‑quality environment across one site. You will be part of an established, supportive and skilled maintenance team operating within a fast‑paced, safety‑critical setting.
Your new role
You will work hours per week from Monday–Friday.Pay: £20- £22 p/hr, via Umbrella or PAYE. We do not pay CIS
Contract: Temporary 3-month contract, temp to perm opportunities available.
As a Joiner / Building Maintenance Operative, you will carry out a wide range of carpentry, joinery and building fabric maintenance tasks. Your duties will include:
1. Diagnosing and repairing joinery faults, including locking systems and ironmongery
2. Manufacturing, assembling and installing joineryponents using hand tools, power tools and woodworking machinery
3. Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and statutory checks ( fire doors, window restrictors)
4. Working from technical drawings and job specifications with minimal supervision
5. Supporting multi‑skilled work across building trades whenpetent
6. Usingputerised maintenance systems and drivingpany vehicles when required
What you'll need to succeed
7. A recognised joinery qualification and extensive experience in building maintenance
8. Strong fault‑finding skills and the ability to work independently
9. Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
10. Fire Door knowledge is desirable but not essential.
11. Ability to work across multiple campuses when required
12. A valid DBS check or willingness to obtain one
