As an Insights Analyst, you will be joining the Portfolio & Commercial Insights team who, as part of the wider Insights, Strategy & Retail Planning function, are responsible for converting data, consumer research and market intelligence into insights, strategic recommendations & forecasts that provide WBD with competitive advantage. Our team influences decision making across a range of stakeholders (including planning, marketing, commissioning, advertising-sales & strategy) and we are driven to understand our audiences and ensure the voice of the consumer is at the heart of everything we do.
The Insights Analyst will support multiple stakeholders across the business and offers a unique opportunity to work across WBD’s entire portfolio of linear, social and streaming brands (including discovery+, Discovery Channel, Eurosport & Food Network). While there will be some regular reporting within the role, you will also be able to get stuck-in and contribute to a broad range of exciting and varied ad-hoc projects as well as maintain and develop our data visualisation tools. The role will utilise both primary and secondary research techniques and ensure key stakeholders are armed with best-in-class insights upon which to base business decisions.
* This role will act as support for the Portfolio Senior Insights Manager and will support on ad-hoc requests, performance reviews and smaller insights projects.
* Produce detailed reporting on the performance of WBD’s linear portfolio of Entertainment, Factual & Sport brands as well as our direct-to-consumer services.
* Help measure audience consumption across platforms to develop a holistic picture of viewing across our products/brands.
* Help maintain key reports and data visualisation tools (e.g. PowerBI & Tableau).
* Fully exploit available TV and digital data and blend with other research insights to reveal more about our viewers and their content choices and behaviour.
* Provide the planning and marketing departments with clear, actionable data to help grow WBD’s portfolio of channels.
* Respond to ad-hoc research requests with customised deliverables and recommendations.
Qualifications & Experience…
* Demonstrable experience working in the media industry within a research or insights department – either a media owner or media agency.
* Solid grasp of media metrics across TV and digital platforms and background with working with large data sets.
* Understanding of the UK TV & streaming market and challenges it faces.
* Experience with industry analysis tools such as AdvantEdge/TechEdge, Adobe Analytics, TGI, GWI and Ampere Analysis.
* Experience of BARB audience data (ideally via AdvantEdge/TechEdge tools). Experience with BARBs SVOD and Total Identified Viewing data desirable but not essential.
* Knowledge & experience of TGI/GWI or similar consumer insight tools.
* Prior experience maintaining or developing data visualisation tools (e.g. PowerBI or Tableau).
* Experience using self-serve survey tools (e.g. Toluna, Attest) desirable but not essential.
* Knowledge and experience of sport media desirable but not essential.
* Excellent communication skills – able to produce clear, concise actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
