Job Description:
Psychology & Sports Graduates - Wakefield & surrounding areas - Excellent opportunity to start your career!
Are you interested in supporting the education of young people who no longer attend mainstream school?
Do you have what it takes to adapt in a rewarding environment as part of a supportive and professional team?
Have you considered working in a specialist education setting such as an alternative provision, PRU, or SEMH School?
Most positions are permanent and are a great way to build experience for your future career. I have a proven track record of helping graduates gain relevant work experience to advance in their chosen fields.
***You should already be living locally*** and be ready to start once our checks are complete.
We are seeking Teaching Assistants, Tutors, and Support Workers for Pupil Referral Units, SEMH Schools, and alternative education settings across West and North Yorkshire for both long-term and short-term roles, many of which lead to permanent positions. These roles are ideal if you are considering a career in education or want to work with young people in broader contexts. Many of our placements have led graduates to secure their dream jobs in education, PE, Clinical, or Educational Psychology.
We especially welcome applications from candidates with experience or interest in:
* A genuine passion for working with young people to improve their outcomes
* Youth community work (voluntary or paid)
* Studies in Drama, Sports Coaching, Psychology, or Criminology
* An outgoing, confident personality capable of working independently
* Some SEND experience (SEMH, PMLD, cognitive issues, Autism, etc.)
* Experience in residential support or as a care worker
* Team Teach or other physical intervention training (or willingness to train)
* Mentoring or one-on-one tuition in English, Maths, or Science
* Support roles in teaching, learning assistance, or literacy/numeracy support
Protocol Education has extensive experience placing teaching professionals in various settings. We are an REC accredited and fully compliant provider committed to safeguarding. Our large network covers most areas from the North East to the South West.
Support Worker requirements include:
* A DBS certificate with a subscription to the update service or willingness to obtain one
* Two recent professional references covering the last five years and a CV covering 10 years
* A commitment to safeguarding young people
All applicants must have the appropriate qualifications and training. Please see the Protocol Education website FAQs for details.
Pay rates include statutory holiday pay. This is a temporary position, with potential for permanent roles later. We conduct safeguarding checks in line with DfE guidance and may include online searches. We also offer free online safeguarding and Prevent Duty training. All candidates must have or obtain a valid DBS check and subscribe to the DBS Update Service.
Full support provided. For privacy policy details, visit the Protocol Education website.
