Responsibilities
* Working under the supervision of Manager, Assistant Directors, Directors or Partners within Strategy and Transactions as well as other EY departments in both Ireland and internationally on the following assignments.
* Working effectively as a team member by sharing responsibility, providing support, maintaining communication and updating senior members on progress.
* Understanding client requirements, co-developing the approach with the client, and providing value through insights, factual conclusions and advice.
* Design, develop and document complex business models.
* Review Excel models under supervision and arrive at preliminary conclusions.
* Understand, manipulate and interpret financial data and client information, drawing appropriate conclusions.
* Carry out relevant analysis and present findings (written and oral).
* Gather, verify and analyse information to formulate views.
* Plan, prepare and review deliverables including reports and presentations.
* Identify and escalate risks to more senior staff as appropriate.
* Work with colleagues to ensure work is properly executed, documented and concluded in accordance with Quality & Risk Management guidelines.
* Establish, maintain and strengthen internal and external relationships.
* Mentor and develop more junior staff and provide constructive feedback.
* Maintain and upgrade technical knowledge and personal skills.
Skills And Attributes For Success
To qualify for the role:
* Ideally you will have an accounting qualification - CA or equivalent; strong IFRS/FRS102 and financial accounting knowledge; high business awareness and understanding of drivers of financial performance.
* Highly numerate with strong Excel skills; able to use them to help clients understand their business and make better decisions.
* Track record in financial modelling, experience in a professional services environment, and exposure to high-profile transactions.
* Additional technical skills such as Visual Basic or SQL; other programming languages are advantageous.
* Experience with visualisation tools (e.g., PowerBI) is beneficial.
The following will be an advantage
* ACA, ACCA or CFA qualification with relevant experience.
* Minimum 2.1 degree, numeric subjects preferred.
* Strong interpersonal, client focus, attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Organisational and self-management skills; proactive development.
