Job Title: Commercial Officer

Location: Rochester

Salary: £28,000

What you'll be doing:

* Lead the commercial aspects of bids and proposals from initial engagement through to contract award
* Negotiate contracts and agreements with customers in line with company policies and governance
* Interpret and communicate customer requirements to internal stakeholders
* Identify, assess and mitigate commercial risks while maximising business opportunities
* Support contract management activities to ensure delivery against financial and contractual commitments
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage change and drive successful outcomes
* Represent BAE Systems externally, building strong stakeholder relationships and travelling as required

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

* An awareness of the aspects of the Law that affect the activities of the business
* Familiarity with typical internal governance requirements
* Experience of contract/agreement types
* Good literacy and numeracy skills
* Customer focus and a commitment to meet deadlines and targets

Desirable:

* Commercial/ contracts background

The Commercial team:

This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing team that supports the delivery of transformative technology across a global portfolio of military and commercial customers. The Commercial function is the trusted partner of the business. We are responsible for managing customer relationships, negotiating deals, creating innovative solutions, and providing guidance on contractual, regulatory and governance matters.

All of our Commercial roles include a high-level of interaction with external stakeholders, and as such we represent BAE Systems in a variety of business settings around the world.
