Excellent opportunity for anyone with fluent MANDARIN and recent experience as a Network and Security Engineer or with 5 years in this specialist field who is now looking for their next step. This is a corporate banking role, where the team needs a specialist for the installation, support, and maintenance of network infrastructure and security framework, and to assist the network and security manager in managing the bank's IT networking equipment through support of the network equipment and head office network.
Job Title: MANDARIN Network and Security Engineer
Location: London
Work style: Onsite office-based role
Salary: up to £75,000 per annum
Languages: Mandarin Chinese and English
Key Responsibilities:
* Security Monitoring & Incident Response: Monitor security tools (firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM) to detect threats; investigate security alerts and incidents; assist in incident response.
* Vulnerability Management: Conduct vulnerability assessments; support penetration testing; collaborate on patching and risk mitigation.
* Network Access Control (NAC): Configure switches and endpoints; install and troubleshoot Cisco IP Phone/IPC services.
* Network Administration: Configure user switches, perform health checks, and provide after-hours support for emergencies.
* Compliance & Collaboration: Ensure adherence to security standards; coordinate network checks; liaise with global IT teams; document processes and communicate controls.
Skills & Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT/Computer Science (preferred)
Experience: Minimum 3 years in IT support (network/security/IP telephony)
Technical Skills: Experience with OSPF, BGP, STP, NAC, IPT (Cisco); proficiency with network monitoring tools, NDR, SIEM; knowledge of vulnerability assessment and patch management.
Soft Skills: Ability to work under pressure; strong communication and collaboration skills.
Working Conditions: Flexibility for after-hours/weekend support during incidents.
