Overview:
We are currently recruiting an experienced electrical technician to join our client at their facility in the West Midlands. This is an exciting opportunity to work for a thought leader in their industry as part of a highly skilled maintenance team.
Responsibilities:
* Liaise with CI Engineer and Mechanical Engineer to stay updated on tasks and duties.
* Manage maintenance requests, assess priorities, and log work; approve or reject requests as necessary.
* Create and authorize permits for contractors.
* Record accidents and incidents in collaboration with the CI Engineer and Mechanical Engineer.
* Carry out portable appliance tests in accordance with schedule and legislation, ensuring equipment is within test dates.
* Inspect plant equipment regularly, complying with legislation.
* Maintain certificates and records for lifting equipment and pressure vessels, including new equipment, repairs, and inspections.
* Organize repairs for damaged or faulty equipment, ensuring availability of spares.
* Keep calibration records and certificates up to date.
* Inform Technicians and Supervisors of any changes affecting plant operation.
* Participate in improvement meetings as instructed.
* Coordinate with Technicians and Supervisors before and after work in their areas.
* Support in major incidents (fire, injury, etc.).
* Optimize equipment availability to minimize production loss.
* Assist with new projects and plant improvements.
Knowledge and Experience:
* Fully trained and qualified electrical Technician.
* 3-5 years of electrical experience preferred.
* Effective communication skills with managers, operators, and personnel.
* Adaptable and flexible approach.
* Ability to meet deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail.
* Willingness to improve knowledge of plant operations and strategies.
* Reliable, hardworking, and able to work independently.
* Technically proficient and effective communicator.

* Working hours: currently 06:00-14:00 / 14:00 shift, moving to a 3-shift pattern with shift allowance for night shifts.
