Priory Hospital Llanarth Courtis is looking to recruit a Charge Nurse/Deputy Ward Manager to join the team. This is a full‑time role of 37.5 hours a week.
Priory Hospital Llanarth Court, located in the rural area of Usk, Monmouthshire, offers secure services for adult males and females. We provide a specialist assessment and treatment service for people with mental health conditions who present with a variety of behaviours that challenge. We also have an additional facility within the grounds of the hospital, offering opportunities for individuals who require bespoke packages of care, as part of our bespoke therapeutic placement (BTP) offering. We are a sector‑leading example of how providing a wide variety of care settings and a clear care pathway in the direction of recovery can benefit all individuals.

What you’ll be doing
You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients' wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients.
* Works as Senior Nurse in a Ward or equivalent area ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, their families and visitors.
* Apply relevant policies and statutory requirements within the ward and hospital framework of governance and communicates requirements to the wider team.
* Ensures that risk is assessed and managed across the immediate and wider working environment and that statutory requirements are met.
* Respects and applies the requirements of diversity and inclusion, promoting and role‑modeling these across the team.
What you’ll bring to the role

Holds active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council, meeting revalidation requirements, and is a trained Assessor/Supervisor with essential experience in providing clinical supervision. Demonstrates ongoing commitment to continued professional development, with clear evidence of maintaining and developing both clinical and leadership skills. Possesses good computer skills and has at least 18‑month to two‑year post‑registration experience, with demonstrable expertise within a clinical speciality.
