Shunter and Yard Operative

Here at ABP Langport, located in Southwest Somerset (TA10 9HG), we are currently recruiting for the ideal candidate to join our Yard Team as a Shunter and Yard Operative.

Role definition:
* Provision of Shunting and Forklift services to maintain the smooth running of
* the plant and site to contribute to maximum operational efficiency.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* Operate Shunter and Forklift as required according to SOP's, ensuring that all trailers are moved to the correct area and working as per procedures
* Ensure factory perimeters and external areas are maintained in an orderly and tidy manner at all times
* Ensure all non-food deliveries correspond with appropriate paperwork
* Carry out all vehicular activities in a manner which complies with site Health and Safety requirements
* Ensure CAT 1 and CAT 3 materials are disposed of correctly and that appropriate paperwork is correctly completed and retained
* Prepare trailers for production use in compliance with organisation operating procedures
* Load and unload lorries, ensuring goods are checked in accordance with organisational operating procedures
* Monitor bone-exit conveyor and ensure trailer is moved as required to prevent disruption to production or spillage of waste material
* Responsible for ensuring all maturation trailers are cleaned and working correctly

10am - 7pm
Reporting to:
Rate: £14.00 p/h rising to £14.50 upon successful completion of probation
