An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated person to work within our busy reception team. Candidates must be flexible as the posts can have an early start 8am and late finish 6.30pm.
Communication and computer skills are essential. Previous experience with EMIS Web or in a GP practice is desirable but not essential as full training will be offered to the right candidates. Ensure an effective and efficient reception service is provided to patients and any other visitors to the practice
Using your own judgment and communication skills ensure that patients with no prior appointment but who need urgent consultation are seen in a logical and non-disruptive manner.
Explain practice arrangements and formal requirements to new patients and those seeking temporary cover and ensure procedures are completed.
Receive and make telephone calls as required. Action repeat prescription requests and ensure that they are ready for collection by the patient within 48 hours..
Prepare lists and notes for all surgeries and clinics held, ensuring completion of all associated paperwork.
Advise patients of relevant charges for private (non General Medical Services) services, accept payment and issue receipts for same.
Enter patient information on to the computer as required.
Assist patients with completing online appointment requests where required

The Practice has 5 GP partners, 2 Salaried GP, 3 AdvancedClinical Practitioners, 1 Clinical Pharmacist, 2 Pharmacy Technicians, a well-established Practice Nurse team including 3 GPAs,and 5 General Practice Nurses and a well-being team. We also work closely withthe community teams and have first contact practitioners working within thepractice. Our Admin team consists of Medical receptionists, Medical Secretaries, Clinic Coordinator, Care Coordinators and patient data administrators as well as Management leads for all departments.
Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
Provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone
