Interim Senior Finance Business Partner supporting budgeting, forecasting and senior stakeholders.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Interim Senior Finance Business Partner to join a highly regarded organisation within the creative and cultural sector during a busy and important period.
This role will provide vital support to the Senior Finance Business Partner, enabling focus on key strategic projects, while ensuring the organisation continues to receive clear, insightful financial information to support effective decision-making.
This is a 3-6 month contract starting asap (with possible extension)
Key Duties
* Business partner with designated budget holders, holding regular meetings to monitor budgets and support reforecasting
* Provide clear financial and non-financial reporting to Trustees, senior management, directors and project managers
* Support the annual budget process, including preparation, approval and upload to the finance system
* Produce, develop and enhance financial reports to meet the needs of senior stakeholders and funding bodies
* Proactively support sound financial management across organisational projects, including funding drawdowns
* Gather, monitor and report on key performance indicators and benchmarking data
* Provide financial analysis and practical support to income-generating departments, including business cases and options appraisals
* Support year-end processes, audit activity and preparation of consolidated accounts packs for government reporting
* Ensure timely and accurate completion of statutory and funding returns (including DCMS, ALVA, National Lottery Heritage Fund, ONS and other bodies)
* Work closely with the wider finance business partnering team to share knowledge and manage workload effectively
* Partner with People & Culture on budgeting and forecasting staffing requirements
* Support financial management of complex projects and acquisitions
Key Skills:
* Fully qualified accountant or finalist level
* Strong experience in finance business partnering, budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting
* Proven ability to communicate and influence at senior stakeholder level
* Advanced Excel skills and experience working with finance systems
* Highly analytical, with excellent attention to detail
* Comfortable working under pressure and managing competing deadlines
* Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently
* Experience supporting year-end and audit processes (desirable)
* A genuine interest in working within the creative and cultural sector
