This full-time position's anticipated annual base pay range is $95,000-$100,000. Actual pay will depend on experience, training, and qualifications. The compensation package includes an annual bonus target, a comprehensive benefits package such as a 401(k) plan with employer match, 12 weeks paid parental leave, health plans (medical, dental, vision), life insurance, disability, and generous paid time off.
The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing the organization's network infrastructure. This includes providing technical leadership, establishing standards, and overseeing network initiatives to ensure system stability, security, and scalability. The role involves collaborating with network administrators, delivering on-site support at the New Brighton location, and providing remote support as needed. Responsibilities include working with cross-functional IT teams, resolving complex network issues, and leading infrastructure improvement projects. Occasional outside work hours and travel may be required.
Responsibilities:
* Network Infrastructure Design and Implementation: Lead the design and planning of secure LAN, WAN, and wireless networks. Set standards for configuring routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers. Oversee VPN implementation for remote access.
* Network Maintenance and Optimization: Develop strategies for monitoring and analyzing network performance. Define best practices for updating and maintaining hardware and software. Lead initiatives to optimize network configurations.
* Network Security: Lead efforts to implement firewalls, IPS/IDS, and other security measures. Conduct vulnerability reviews and oversee mitigation. Ensure compliance with security policies and regulations.
* Troubleshooting and Support: Act as escalation point for complex issues. Coordinate with vendors for troubleshooting. Maintain documentation standards.
* Project Management: Lead network projects, collaborate with IT and cross-functional teams, evaluate new technologies, and recommend improvements.
Education and Experience:
* Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
* 5+ years of experience in network engineering, design, and troubleshooting.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
* Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, VLANs).
* Proficiency with Cisco or similar hardware.
* Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools (SolarWinds, Wireshark, PRTG).
* Knowledge of cloud networking solutions, Azure, and cloud solutions.
* Relevant certifications such as CCNP or CCIE preferred.
* Familiarity with AI-based tools and automation technologies.
* Leadership, project management, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
