Join to apply for the Clinical Pharmacist – Mental Health role at NHS Borders.
Role based at Borders General Hospital Campus, Melrose, with care to patients in the community setting as part of the psychiatry multidisciplinary team (MDT). Permanent, 37 hours per week. Band 7 Clinical Pharmacist Mental Health.
Responsibilities
* Lead, develop and provide clinical pharmacy services in specialist mental health areas as part of the MDT and pharmacy teams.
* Support the delivery of regional and national programmes.
* Contribute to maximising patient‑centred care and support implementation of Achieving Excellence within the mental health speciality.
* Be a reflective practitioner with the necessary therapeutic knowledge, practical skills and diverse experience to provide high quality patient‑centred care.
* Work closely with multidisciplinary staff and contribute to developing the role of clinical technicians and pharmacy support staff.
* Promote robust medicines governance, patient safety initiatives and future developments such as electronic medicines management.
* Seek opportunities to provide professional leadership to drive service development and respond to changing healthcare environments.
Qualifications and experience
* Good base of clinical knowledge with an interest to specialise in psychiatry.
* Post foundation RPS accreditation (or equivalent).
* Ideally an Independent Prescriber qualification.
* Reflective practitioner with appropriate professional development and a collaborative approach within a multidisciplinary team.
