Where you will be working
Encyclis Rookery South Energy Recovery Facility (ERF) is located near Stewartby in Bedfordshire, just off the M1 Motorway and 20 minutes from Milton Keynes.
This modern facility has been operational since January 2022, processing 585,000 tonnes of waste annually to supply sustainable electricity to approximately 112,000 homes.

Responsibilities
The Opportunity
Reporting to the EC&I Team Leader, the EC&I Technician will perform planned and unplanned maintenance, inspections, and diagnostics on plant equipment, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with Encyclis procedures.
What we need from you…
Key Duties & Responsibilities
* Perform all planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance for EC&I, HV/LV electrical assets, following procedures, risk assessments, and OEM recommendations.
* Assist in planning and executing EC&I outage work and maintenance tasks.
* Manage and supervise specialist EC&I contractors, ensuring compliance with site safety and environmental standards.
* Ensure tasks are performed according to work scope and safety protocols.
* Be familiar with maintenance processes, planning, and executing outages.
* Promote safety rules and systems, reporting unsafe conditions or incidents.
* Develop and implement maintenance strategies aligned with industry best practices.
* Manage the site’s CMMS to prioritize and track work tasks.
* Maintain CEMS to ensure environmental compliance.
* Diagnose faults on DCS, RIO, and PLC systems.
* Support spares inventory and workshop management.
* Lead improvement processes, corrective actions, and root cause analysis.
* Maintain accurate method statements and risk assessments.
* Collaborate with operations to meet key performance indicators.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
* Higher National Diploma or NVQ Level 4/3 in a technical or science field preferred; relevant experience in energy recovery or large process plants considered.
* Electrical, Control, or Instrument Engineering apprenticeship desirable.
Relevant qualifications and experience in energy recovery or large process plants are considered.
* At least 5 years of hands-on experience in a medium to large industrial facility.
* Knowledge of CMMS, instrument calibration, testing, and maintenance.
* Experience with plant outages, high voltage equipment, switchgear, transformers, and generators is desirable.
* Knowledge of DCS and CEMs systems is advantageous.
