We have an exciting opportunity for a First Aid Officer to join our busy Operations team, providing first aid to visitors, staff, and contractors across our large and busy site. Every year, we welcome up to 2 million visitors, and our 128-acre site requires regular walking in all weather conditions while carrying emergency equipment.
You will:
1. Deliver a range of first aid treatments to staff, visitors, and contractors, liaising with our Security team and external medical specialists as required.
2. Maintain the effectiveness and compliance of the zoo’s first aid and lifesaving equipment through regular inspections and refurbishment.
3. Gather and record information and evidence post-incident, ensuring proper logging and compliance with company and GDPR standards.
4. Ensure ongoing safety and compliance by undertaking safety inspections on all zoo play areas in line with ROSPA guidance, reporting issues, and taking appropriate actions.
The Package
1. A minimum of 8 hours per week, with work hours between 8 am and 10 pm.
2. Temporary fixed-term contract until 05/01/2026.
3. £12.21 per hour.
4. 33 days annual leave (pro-rata based on hours worked).

Our Requirements
1. Experience in delivering first aid and good all-round first aid knowledge.
2. A valid First Aid at Work qualification; enhanced training can be provided.
3. Full driving license.
4. Excellent customer care skills.
5. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
6. Ability to remain calm and make decisions under pressure.
7. Ability to prioritize, plan, and organize daily tasks efficiently.
8. Desirable: Basic knowledge of Health & Safety, experience in large customer-focused environments, FREC 3 qualification.
