The role
As a Warehouse Operative, you’ll be at the heart of essential logistics activity that keeps our defence operations running safely, efficiently and on time. You’ll support critical warehousing functions that directly contribute to national security—ensuring materials, equipment and supplies reach the teams who rely on them every day. It’s a hands‑on, fast‑paced role where you’ll build specialist skills, gain valuable industry experience, and unlock opportunities for long‑term progression, including potential supervisory pathways.
Day-to-day, you’ll have the following responsibilities:
1. Carry out the receipt, management, issue and dispatch of materials to meet customer requirements.
2. Load and offload freight and support driving duties for on‑base distribution.
3. Conduct stock‑taking, inspections and maintain data accuracy across all information systems.
4. Follow and promote safe working practices aligned with company safety, quality and environmental standards.
5. Support specialist packing, repairs and additional warehousing duties as directed.
You’ll be working full-time, 36‑hours per week, onsite based at Faslane. The hours for this role will be Monday–Thursday, 07:15–16:45.
Essential experience of the Warehouse Operative:
6. Knowledge of warehouse processes.
7. Experience using mechanical handling equipment.
8. Understanding of manual handling techniques.
9. Familiarity with safe systems of work and risk assessments.
10. Awareness of health, safety and environmental standards.
Qualifications for the Warehouse Operative:
11. Full UK Driving licence
12. MHE certificates
13. Warehousing SVQs or equivalent
14. NEBSM or institute of management certificates.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance for this role.
