Contract: X2 Permanent

Hours: X2 37hrs Full Time

Your workstyle will be a mobile hybrid worker in this role which gives you the flexibility to work from home and from a variety of Council workplaces.

We are currently looking for X2 Technicians to join our team.

We are currently looking for a dedicated and skilled individual to join our Environment and Regeneration Directorate as an Technician. This permanent position is based within the Engineering Team at The Quays, Baglan Energy Park. As a Technician, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality engineering solutions for our community.

In this role, you will be helping to providing technical services to both internal and external clients, helping the team in specialist areas, and helping the implementation of engineering schemes from design through to completion. Key duties include preparing and reviewing contract documents, supervising construction and maintenance projects, and ensuring compliance with relevant health and safety standards. You will also be expected to manage project budgets, liaise with stakeholders, and contribute to the continuous improvement of technical and managerial systems within the team.

About you:

Do you have:

1. Experience providing technical support within an engineering or construction environment, including contributing to the delivery of engineering schemes from design through to completion
2. Experience preparing, checking, and maintaining technical documentation (for example, drawings, specifications, schedules, and contract documents)
3. Experience supervising works on site, including monitoring quality, progress, and compliance with specifications and relevant standards
4. A strong understanding of health and safety requirements, with the ability to apply safe systems of work and support compliance on site
5. Experience liaising effectively with internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders, with clear written and verbal communication skills
6. Good organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate records
7. Confidence using IT systems to support technical and project work (for example, Microsoft Office and relevant technical systems), with a commitment to continuous improvement

You will:

8. Be able to work effectively as part of a team while also using your initiative to progress tasks independently
9. Be flexible and able to work as a mobile hybrid worker, travelling to and working from a variety of Council workplaces as required
